We had such a fantastic time at the interactive Nativity on Monday! The children watched a short video then went into a stable to guess the items in the feely bags and then got the chance to dress up. We all even got a homemade cake at the end! The children were amazing for the whole trip - I was so proud of them all!

This week we have been investigating wheels and axles and exploring how they work and what they are used for. I wonder if the children can find some wheels and axles in unusual places over the weekend? insert photos here

We've been really in the swing of Children in Need today!

This week we have loved going back in time for our history lesson and taking a little trip to the 'Keyham Barton Toy museum'! The children loved looking at toys from the past and comparing them to their toys today. To be honest, I enjoyed reminiscing too! I hope the children have been asking you about the toys you played with when you were younger. Have a great weekend! insert photos here

What a lovely end to the term today! We went on a pilgrimage to the church, then we had sports activities with the coaches from Plymouth Argyle, we made the word Kindness with all the 10p coins you kindly donated and we ended the day with some painting. It's been great fun! Have a lovely half term everyone!
24th October
Hi everyone, tomorrow we are celebrating CAST's 10 year anniversary! We have lots of lovely activities planned including a visit to the church and a special PE session with the Argyle coaches (the children will need to be in PE kits tomorrow please)
We will also have an art lesson and we will be making the word 'Kindness' out of 10p coins, so don't forget to bring any in if you have any spare in your wallets.
We will be sharing all our activities together in a whole school assembly at the end of the day. Photos will be posted on Dojo too for you to see our fun filled day!

Today we were lucky enough to welcome a visitor into our classroom a visitor from Kier construction. He talked about what kinds of jobs there were in construction and read us a story. He also gave all the children a story book to keep! Your child should have brought this home yesterday but if not there are some spare in school.

Next Tuesday in RE we will be thinking about all the lovely places in the world. These could be far away or in Plymouth. We'll be thinking about what made these places so special to us.
If your child has enjoyed a special place somewhere in the world and would like to share any photos, you would be welcome to bring these into school or send to me via Class Dojo.
I hope we can share lots of special places and have a lovely discussion about what makes a place special to us.

We've had a lovely week in Kindness Class this week! We have been learning how to partition numbers using a part-whole model, using a touchpad on the laptop to draw images and painting using watercolours. Have a lovely weekend!

What an exciting start to the week we had! I made the children some gingerbread men to start our new writing topic - but one of them ran away! We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the floury footprints in our classroom. We had such a great time making our own salt dough gingerbread men and crafting gingerbread activities. Luckily, there were still enough gingerbread men left for us to have a tasty treat.
27th September
Next week we will start a new writing topic on The Gingerbread Man and to kick start the children's enthusiasm I thought I would treat them to a gingerbread man biscuit to eat!
If your child has any allergies or you would rather your child didn't have a biscuit, please let me know.
(but please don't tell the children!)
20th September
Today we all became scientists as we explored the materials of different objects. The children loved touching, sorting and labelling lots of different materials and discussing why objects are made from different materials - it was great fun wondering why a bridge would be no good if it was made out of cardboard or an umbrella out of tissue paper! I wonder what materials the children can spot at home?
